To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Orientstiftung has donated two contemporary works by ceramicist Young-Jae Lee to the Museum of East Asian Art. Born in South Korea, she has lived in Germany since 1972 and has run the Margaretenhöhe Ceramic Workshop in Essen since 1987, which was founded in 1924 in the tradition of Bauhaus ceramics. Her works combine elements of the ceramic traditions of Korea and Europe. As part of the exhibition "50 Years - 50 Treasures. Celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the Orient Foundation", the museum and the Orient Foundation invite you to a special celebratory event. After a tour of the exhibition, Director Shao-Lan Hertel will lead an artist talk with Young-JaeLee about her career and her artistic work between two cultures, during which a dialogue with the public is also welcome.
