It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we mourn the death of Pierrette Bloch, who passed aways peacefully in her home in Paris on July 7, 2017 at the age of 89.
Pierrette will be remembered for her courage, boldness, curiosity and adventurous spirit in her exploration of visual articulation as well as the deeply moving simplicity and expressivity inherent in her nuanced work.
Pierrete Bloch, born in 1928 in Paris, was one of the most significant post-war  female artists in France. Pierrette lived and worked Paris and Bages (Aude). Her internationally renouned oeuvre was exhibited in many well-known museums and institutions and can be found in numerous private and public collections such as  the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohamo, Japan, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the Foundation Louis Vuitton pour la Création, Paris, the Centre Georges Pompidou as well as the Musée d`Art Moderne in Paris.
